Done

Have you ever been somewhere that makes you happy by just standing still and letting the sun soak into your skin? Happy to let the breeze play with your hair? Releived to be somewhere that feels like home?

Del Rio is like that for me, and how lucky can I be that it feels the same way to Jerry, too. Most people who visit or have ever been assigned here can't wait to get the heck out. Too hot, not enough "conveniences", too far from "civilization".

I guess it depends on what you think of as conveniences. I like that we can ride our bikes to the pool, stores, bank, everywhere, and not get hit by a car. I find it convenient that my children won't get stolen from our yard.

I have lived in "civilized" places before. Places so civilized no one smiles or says "hi", where your best friend is your car because when you have to go anywhere it has to be by car and then the traffic is so bad it takes 30 minutes to go five miles.

Don't get me wrong. We made some great friends in all of the places we've lived and there is good and bad to every situation.

It's just hard to find any bad here.

Not that I'm looking.

With all my heart I wish you that same contented feeling every day that you, Jerry, and the kids are there. I hope you all thrive there and remain as happy as you were the first time around!
